Presentation
On behalf of the Barcelona team it’s our pleasure to welcome you in Barcelona with this training course designed for professionals involved in Mohs surgery that need training in ex vivo confocal microscopy.
The program includes an introduction to ex-vivo confocal microscopy with the equipment VS 2500 Gen 4 including fluorescent and reflectance imaging and correlation with frozen sections with the aim to teach the tissue handling, staining, imaging and reading of the specimens of normal skin and skin cancer. The student will have the opportunity to work in small groups with practical cases and participate in the tissue preparation and reading cases. A real time Mohs surgery will allow you to see the application of the technique in daily practice.
Finally, in the last session the students will have a test with real cases of Mohs’ surgery and discussion with the experts to consolidate their learning.
It’s our hope that the course will bring a unique opportunity to see the secrets of this exciting technology in the wonderful city of Barcelona.
